Day 35 Today of no smoking. Day 1 nicotine free. Today I ditched the lozenges, I told myself time to take the plunge and yep no guts, no glory. I've been at this stage before and know what to expect, a bit of discomfort for a few days and then onwards and upwards. I have felt a bit stressed today if I'm really honest, but not rattled. I know that this is a phase that will pass and I'm proud to say I don't smoke.

Good on you Leeann. Ditching the lozenges is awesome. It will pass - a couple of days of discomfort is worth the rest of your life free of all the badness that smoking and nicotine come with.

Well done!

Hi Leanne, hoping you are doing well. There has been atleast 2 ways of thinking that has helped me, and both have been mentioned in Allens book.

1/

Welcome the withdrawal pangs from nicotine as it is the body's way of cleansing itself of the poison.

2/

He says that it is ok to sometimes think of the smoking, as it was a very big part of our lives for a very long time in many cases.

I use to stress and worry about these during Quitting before and not realizing that it is perfectly normal during the Quitting process it kept me irritable and yes, more or less miserable. And I have previously double dozed on NRT only because of my fear of those two points of thinking>

I would load up on nicotine with the big patch, 12 x 4mg lozenges and 10 nicotine inhalers Daily! under doctors advice too!

No wonder I failed to Quit and my doctor fled the town.

I only ever needed this forum and the book to Quit and I havent bothered to find another doctor since .

Happy Quitting

Glad to hear you are doing well again Leeann and have the guts to cut out the lozenges. This forum helped me this time around, plus the understanding side of my reasons for failing my 1st attempts were brought home to me through the Video "How to grow to be a happy non-smoker" presented through Utube from the "TEDxUniversityofPiraeus" These things plus the daily Mantra of N.O.P.E (not one puff ever) helped me over many thoughts that were filled up with caving in again.

This is the longest happiest and honest smoke free time ever for me. Go for it Girl

Thank you so much for all of your kind support, it means the world to me. I'm going fine, have to be honest I ordered the Allan Carr book and started to read it, I've put it aside for the moment. I'm going to be really honest, I found him a bit annoying how he got hypnotised and it worked for him which is marvellous, but then he's sceptic on it....... All good, I just feel in a great place right now and have not struggled or wavered at all, so I'm just doing my thing at the moment on working, gyming, cooking up storms, hooking into cleaning and apart from some annoying mouth ulcers I feel great. Hubby is still with the me, and I I'm Super proud of him. We barely talk about smoking, and to be honest I've given my whole soul to this, I simply don't smoke, so therefore I for once do not feel deprived. I'm Super proud and feel like the benefits are great. I've untangled myself finally from the web of illusion. 😊👏

Awww thank you Lando, yes still going strong. Just use a few breathing exercises but havent wished or wanted a smoke since quitting. I actually hate the smell now. It almost makes me feel physically sick. So glad to not have to to keep up the exhausting effort of feeding that filthy habit
