Day 4 into no yucky smokes but the momster is in my head

I haven't got cravings as such just the demon in my head. I tell him to go and annoy some one else I don't want or need you near me. Does anyone else have or had this problem. How long does it last felling strong but frustrated

Hi Shells WA!

Yes, I was absolutely where you are!! No real physical cravings but the junkie thinking was in my head. All of the psychological babble!

It really helped me to stay busy...I read the Allen Carr book as well...as just committed to getting thru one day at a time! It is definitely getting better!! You can DO this!! If the monster is in your head- kick him out, or change the story. Show him a new story where you are powerful, free and smoke free!! Believe in yourself- I believe in you!

Hi there well done for getting this far! I'm having the same problem I'm not on day five I do have strong cravings but feel they are getting less. It's the voice in my head telling me I will fail and that I need to smoke! I've been smoking 23 years except for one 4 month quit and I just can't picture my life long term without fags! I'm taking it one day at a time and try to put off thinking about it. I also download a app on my phone which I'm finding really encouraging.

It is normal to have these thoughts in our heads, our minds trick us into wanting or needing that fix, when in reality the fix doesn't fix us it just brings us down again and again. Find a new voice that belongs to you only, experiment with this and you might enjoy the process. The main over riding Mantra is NOPE not one puff ever, otherwise your resolve flies out the window at the slightest discomfort. Congratulations on day 4, tomorrow is day 5.
