this is day 81 for me. I have been told by my surgeon he would not operate on my back unless I stopped smoking for at least 3 months. This was the final push I needed to stay committed. My grandchildren have been constantly telling me about the black lungs I will have and to please "no more cigaretting gran". I really want to do this and your stories have helped me tremendously. I thought it would be really straight forward dealing with the withdrawal but it sneaks up on you and today i have been craving a cigarette. I have stayed true . My quit is cold turkey.

Great going ma broon. Simply awesome. You are doing several tremendous things at once like quitting cold turkey and still remaining smoke free, making your grandkids happy and proud of you for becoming a non smoker and getting an operation done you wouldn’t get if you still smoked. Really cool. Nicotine withdrawals will fade away. Cheers.

Stick with it Ma Broon, you are doing great! One day at a time until you get the operation you need. You will recover much faster being off the nicotine and those thousands of chemicals in a cigarette. We bombard the body with foreign substance and force it to battle the toxins endlessly. Imagine the repairs it could do it it were free to do so. We feel almost immediate relief in our lung capacity in mere hours after quitting smoking.

Let go of your past relationship with smoking and truly embrace this journey for all the positive changes it will bring.

The future is yours, the cravings can be a thing of the past.
