The day I quit
Today is day 25 since I quit smoking for good
For me I ended up with bronchitis that turned into Pneumonia and spent the night in hospital because I also had a massive asthma attack I have never had asthma before
I bawled my eyes out once I was stable
My quitting moment was for the first time as a mother I seen fear and worry in my children's eyes and faces, them seeing me so sick and knowing that my smoking was one of the main reasons for getting ill made something click inside of me and once I came home from hospital my children and I broke up any remaining cigarettes I had and I threw out my ashtrays I had and have not looked back since
My children tell me everyday that they are proud of me and it just lights up my face and so far with the small saving I have saved that money covered the cost of some new footy gear for my children
So that's a win..

Congrats on a great 25 day quit. It is too bad that it took such a scare to get your attention. I know i alway say "stay positive" and that we don't like to use "scare tactics", but if we were to take just a moment to play "what if?" and knowing what we do know by reading posts on this sight and having become educated, whether to some it may have an impact. I am sure we have all had fleeting thoughts of it, but have we ever imagining the impact on our families? That was a deciding factor for me to start living healthier, and then "wham" i got the initiative to quit smoking. Maybe sometimes, things to happen for a reason that we can understand and make sense of.
It is a beautiful day here today again, and i really enjoyed getting out for a walk yesterday . I am hoping to get into exercise mode. Not sure how many days i have "gained" since quitting smoking, but i intend to enjoy every one of them. Have a terrific day everyone!

Awesome. Congrats. Don't look back. Personally I use my ashtrays for sunflower shells. LOL. Great achievement and good luck.

Good Job MOM keep up that quit ! your teaching you children a valuable lesson in overcoming addiction. Not to mention a healthier lifestyle for you and especially the kids.
