DAY 1 No Cigarette packet near me

Posted in Getting started
schedule 11 Mar 2019

First day without a packet of cigs near me. Yesterday I was quite sad in a way, plenty of self talk and a plan for breakfast which changed when I got up. Its early yet, but have changed the radio to relaxing and happy old fashioned music, and found myself singing (to my dog) she liked it! I hope my happy mood stays with me today.

Look forward to this journey and be happy. Do not fear it. Would you please believe me that the hardest part of the journey is not the actual nicotine addictiion. That is over in a few days, it is the psychological part of the process which is harder. Most of it is idolizing the cigarette rather than seeing it for what is actually is. If you have done your homework, you will know that nicotine no matter how addictive can be beat. You need to stop feeling the connection with it and know if for what it has done to keep YOU under control. The companies own you. Tell tell to go fly a kite, off, you can be free of this and no longer just hand over your lunch money being bullied. You are educated know, and you have tools at hand. Believe it or not you now hold the winning hand. If you want to quit you can. It is possible. You do have a choice. You have made this decision. Stick with it and believe you can be free and you will be truly rewarded more than you can ever know.

Anyone can quit smoking. Be positive. Take control.

So Pleased to get some replies, yes I felt really good yesterday, its day 2 now and am once again doing ok. Loads of Lemon Water today for some reason. Started my walking again just for 30 mins with my precious dog. Am about to rest and maybe watch a movie. One question about this forum ...do you need to follow for some reason or is it best just to answer everyone? Thanks again and thrilled to get some feedback

Whether you drop a comment or start your own story you are effectively talking to everybody.

You should get an email notification if a comment is sent to your story.

Otherwise, you would have to follow what others are talking about. Feel free to comment at anytime.

It could be helpful to visit the site often to keep abreast with the many conversations, but I would find inspiration with some of the old conversations from many years ago. You will get the hang of it. This site might distract you enough to get you through those early days of your Quit!

Give it ago and good luck softly40

We are here to help in whatever way we can. You can answer or reply as much or little as you care to. Support is always welcomed i think. Reading posts or searching on line to know more about nicotine , the addiction, the quit or whatever concerns you may help in your journey. Knowing what to expect makes it less intimidating, support less lonely and advice encouraging. Keep up the great work. Stay positive. You can do this!
