I really want to quit as I am so done with smoking. I’m so worried and I have no idea how! Anything I should use or take to help start quitting?

see your local doctor, patches $53 retail, $6.40 with a script, get a lung capacity/breathing check? done (don't know what they call it, sorry), I got one a few weeks ago, scared me badly, 19 days free now, can do things around the house, walk the dog etc without having to stop to get my breath, bike rego due & the money I've saved will pay for that with enough for a carton left over smoked for over 50 years & this is the best thing I ever did - don't be worried - I go to the pub & pity the smokers - make the 1st step & choose which method works for you, you'll be so glad you did (sorry to be so long-winded)

I had no idea a doctor can prescribe patches. I will absolutely do that this week Thursday!

Congrats to you! And I hope I can do it with the strength you have. Thanks heaps

You can ask anyone a question on here and in some way it will be answered. . Its a community of mostly ex-smokers who can usually give some advice.

The advice is varied, but you should be prepared to eventually STOP SMOKING:)

Hi Scary. You might want to read a lot of posts here and on line to learn about nicotine and you. It is not so scary when you know what to expect. I gather you may be interested n using the patch, but remember that an aid like the patch in only an aid and you still have to do your part. If you do not, you will not change your habits and way of thinking to remain off smokes. These are the 80% of the journey, while getting off nicotine is about 20%.

Knowledge is power and puts you in control for an easier quit. Anyone can quit smoking with the right mindset and tools.
