Second serious attempt

I took Zyban last year and gave up smoking for about 8 months then got annoyed at my boyfriend for telling me he gave up and he hadn't. So I started again I'm back on Zyban and haven't had a smoke in 17 days. This time I will succeed and NOT start again.

17 days is an achievement
Im on 40 days smoke free and using NRT inhalers and aspire to get along with zero nicotine. You and i can get off the stupid habit by learning how to live without smokes. Theres alot of info on here that might help
just be clear that our smoke free run of 17 or 41 days would be over if we have a puff
good luck

There are people on here that have more wisdom, experience and eloquence than me and I do wish you and me to PuffNoMore

Hi Rachael. Welcome and good luck with your quit. I am glad to see you wanting to quit for yourself this time. Quitting is certainly easier with the right mindset. You will find good people, with sound advice and support on IcanQuit.

Hi Rachaelk465, So glad to hear you have made it to day 17 (or 18 now). Try not to reflect on your 8 month quit and compare your current quit to it. You might end up in the nico demons trap of "you failed last time, you are going to fail this time, so go ahead and have the cigarette!". The nico demon will try every trick they can think of to get you back smoking. Thank you for sharing that you made it to 8 months and the nico demon was still able to convince you to start again. Its a reminder to us all that no matter how far a long we are in our quit we all have to be on guard as the nico demon is always there, waiting for a weak moment and their chance to strike. I know for myself, its easier to make smoking something that I don't want, period. Not wanting something makes it impossible to crave it.
