I have just started quitting today, cold turkey after being quit for 3 years, then just having one occasionally, to 20 a day in 6 months..

Today is my first smoke free day, doing 4mg Nicobate for about a week now, and 10 a day from this morning..

not going too bad ..

schedule 12 Mar 2018

Well done.

Good luck and more power to you. I've been in your shoes twice before. One quit lasted over 2 years and the second one lasted just over 1 year. Each time I told myself that I had my addiction beat and that one puff won't do me no harm, and each time I was hooked again. I am on my 3rd and final quit now. NOPE - not one puff ever (from now on). It won't be easy but you can beat it. All the best.

Grrrr! Damn smokes, 32 hours off and wife gave me a grilling - smoked again! Arrrgh! now need to start all over again.. I may need to get away for a while..

I know "wife gave me grilling" part quite well. Try to reevaluate your approach. I read a book by Joel Spitzer called "Never take another puff" which made a lot of sense. One of his points was that when we (ex-smokers)

run into problems we want to light up to reduce stress but what really happens is that after lighting up we are still facing the same problem but in addition we just added another problem of smoking. So instead of one problem we have two. Good luck.

Hi. As smokers we always had an excuse to smoke and I realised early on that regardless of anything stress would not be relieved by lighting up. A pathetic excuse we used for years. We just hoped someone would believe us. I don't think WE did. We bluffed everyone else... How can lighting up change a stressful situation. It can't and does not. Wish you well in your quest to quit. Just forgive yourself for ever being a smoker. Once a smoker, always a smoker. Just choose not to do so.
