900 days today since I made that decision to quit for life...the best thing I have ever done in my life, and for a person who thought they would die a smoker it is the greatest feeling to now say...NO, I DON'T SMOKE and still feel excited that I have a life.

When I initially gave up smoking I thought, my god what am I going to do! thats how much of a hold cigarettes have on you, you think you can't survive without them or worse still function on a day to day basis without them. I thought the only way i'd give up is if I was put in some rehab unit and they threw away the key....little did I realise that everyday off them I became stronger and now 900 days and many thousands of $$$$$$$ later I feel unreal.....

Please all of you who are trying to give up, hang in there you will get stronger and you're going to feel just as proud of yourself as I do.....then tell everyone what you've done! It's not an easy feat but your going to feel unreal you've done it....Give it all you've got and be patient.

Trish thank you for the inspiring message and congratulations on the huge accomplishment! It must feel amazing to know you are out of the danger stage! I am at day 30 smoke free but I still worry about what will happen if I have a few drinks and am around smokers. I feel so good I can't imagine lighting up but I am not that confident that it doesn't scare me. People like you give me hope that I really can do this! Way to go!!

Congratulations. It's great to hear your story. I have made many attempts to quit and the best I have ever done is 6 months about 20 years ago. My more recent attempts can be measured in days. But I'm trying again and am now on day 8. Thank you for your inspiration.

Great work and thanks for thinking of us all by way of an update on your progress!

How long did cravings last for you? I have read it takes about 2 months for them to mostly go away. I am on day 50 cold turkey. I crave about 5 times a day for less than 1 minute each time. computer games is now my number one crave trigger. It used to be waking up but now I think coffee time!

I'm going to be someone who updates us all in 900 days too!

    Great work!

    Great job Trish.
Updates are so important because it gives us all the motivation to follow in your success. I remember when I was 7 days quit and I thought it was going to be a real struggle but before I knew it I have reached 116 days.
Keep up the good work and the positive updates..
