Hi, that's great, a lot of people I know quit using it and they were heavy long term smokers. The quit line are also very supportive. Stay on here you will get heaps of support. Good luck.

The quit line is only supportive if you follow one of their mandated methods of quitting. Try something different and they are rude condescending and just want to push one of their approved methods down your throat. In my experience I thought I had contacted one of the drug companies help line not an independent government agency. And in spite of making a formal complaint about the call I made I have never been contacted by anyone in authority regarding the matter. So in my case the quit line was worse than useless it was in fact counterproductive and I would never recommend that anyone not using Champix or NRT contact then because you will be treated like an idiot and have their highly toxic mix of chemicals forced upon you should you want guidance and unless and until you conform you are on your own. Sorry if I sound strident but I contacted them at a very low point and no matter what I said all the agent wanted to do was push NRT and absolutely no other solutions were offered. NONE! When I expressed concerns that using NRT was only going to prolong or defer the withdrawal symptoms I was spoken to as if I was and idiot that obviously could not be helped. The service is certainly no where near being agnostic with regards to quitting methods. I used hypnotherapy and was left under no illusion that I was an idiot who has wasted my money. I was not suffering cravings I was suffering the detox symptoms and was after some methods that may assist in getting through them. Obviously a stupid question to which the ONLY answer was NRT.

Well done and good for you on deciding to quit it is so worth it. I am in Ireland and was using the quitline too .....I found them rude and insincere and frankly not helpful more annoying if I am honest. But I may have been unlucky. It was a low point and the person on the phone was not helpful ....never again. I recommend posting on here it's very supportive here. For me if it was not for here I would not have made it. I did the champix for the first month and stopped after that just could not stand the nausea . I went the rest on my own .... 3 months smoke free, so happy days. They were brilliant and really gave me a good boot into not smoking... all going well.
