    Hi Sazza
    Welcome to the long haul...its so worth it. Don't think you have to stop immediately you start Champix, its an inhibitor, not nicotine replacement, so as it gradually builds up in your system it will block your smoking enjoyment and your will smoke less ..The key thing is to set yourself a quit date - it took me about 2 weeks - and on that day make sure you have no cigs, no lighters and no ashtrays around, and that you try and change your routine so that you don't have the normal "cig time" trigger;
    But well done on getting down to 7, a really great effort and just reinforces what I was telling myself - I don't need it and don't want it. And you can, and will, get there through your own willpower and keeping in touch with all on this site who can relate to what you are coping with and are ready with support.

    Hey Sazza! Well done... just because you have decided to take your first pill, you made a huge step into the smokefree community :)
    I'm myself using champix and can't complain! no big side effects except for the funny dreams... but to be honest i'm almost smiling when closing my eyes :) and i sleep better... like a baby
    anyway im on day 12 smoke free and still taking champix... seriously just stick to the quit date and you may even quit before that date :) like some of us did
    Good luck and keep posting...

    Hey Sazza, my day 1 was on the 1st so we are doing this together. Keep at it, I am still smoking but much less than before, but it fluctuates each day for me. I hope you don't get the nausea I am having, but I am working through it. My quit date is the 14th and I will smoke up to that date if my body will let me. I have had half a smoke just before and just put it out yuk !! It is different for everyone, but just keep at it and don't feel bad for smoking. I started Champix before you and I am still smoking. Keep up the good work and I hope to hear from you and see more posts :) Pezza
