1 year today :)

Posted in Hints and tips 12 Mar 2013

1 year today, :D   i had a friend say the other day she thought i was the last person on earth to ever be able to quit, i smiled and smiled......because i had to agree with her......cravings all but gone, although i did have one the other day, dont even think about it much any more and ive waited and waited for this day to be able to say its been a year!  I also cant believe how much i hate the smell of cigarette smoke, on people and even in the air, and yet the first few months i would have happily followed every whiff i caught

WOW rainbow4006 Well Done!!! A whole year. Man it sounds like a long, long way away. Even 44 days still sounds like a long way away 'quit for kids' - well done to you too. I swear I am battling worse with wanting to smoke now that I was at 10 days. It hasn't got better, it has got worse. I come so close every day - STILL. Being depressed about my skin and my weight isn't helping at all either. :(

Don't worry leighdo13, I'm in the same boat as you. I constantly am feeling conscious about my weight as well. To be honest it makes it feel like quitting smoking is a heck of a lot easier than losing weight :(
My second battle now begins - to eat healthier and lose weight lol

And congrats on one year rainbow4006 :-)

thanks all :) i found the first 5 months quite hard with still a lot of cravings, i know 5 months sounds like a long time, but it really isnt, you will be surprised how quickly it goes after that, the weight thing? for the first 3 months after stopping the cigs, you will need to burn an extra 200 cals/day to maintain your weight IF you continue to eat the same amount, after 3 months your metabolism stabilises and its not so hard, the skin thing if you suffer from it settles down eventually to and you come out with way better looking skin than you started with! keep going guys, your 1 year will come sooner than you believe right now! best of luck
