I quit smoking with my husband still smoking beside me in the early days. He also quit cold turkey. One has to make up their minds to do it for themselves. It is not a follow the leader, nor a contest on who can hold out the longest. When you make up your mind to do something you simply do it.

Your reasons or WANT to quit did not change with lockdown. If your mates take up heroin would you do so as well? Nicotine is just a legal addiction. You are a nicotine junkie. Stay on that course or choose to make your life better.

No one ever wished they smoked. No one wants their kids to smoke. They will in turn start smoking in the belief that they are missing something, why else would people smoke for decades? We justified our weakness to quit , and so the lies continue. Let's break the cycle and hopefully the chain too.

Stick with us and reinforce your commitment. We CAN stop smoking when we stop the excuses.

Welcome Waftam, you said it DON'T GIVE UP, stick close to the site, read up on all the stories and take whatever advice might gel with you. You are stronger than you think, you can do it, you just need to really want it. I chose to become a non smoker amongst lockdown, I am Day 54 and about to head into week 12 of lockdown. I live with 2 smokers, I am only sharing this with you to let ypu know anything is possible, you just have to stand up and say no more!! No more to the slavery of the addiction, no more watching your money going up in smoke, no more to allowing smoking to rob you of your health, time and self confidence. Use NRT if you require it to get you started to break the habit, once you have a handle on that ease off and ditch it and be free. Others are bold and strong and can handle cold turkey, whatever works for you. You just need to committ and the save the excuses for under the pillow. I wish you the best for your quit journey and hope you let the quitfamily know how you are getting on. We are all cheering for you🙌💞
