It may also help, to admit to yourself that it is not a crappy habit. It is an addiction. We are, or were, addicted to smoking. Once we admit to ourselves that we are addicts, the desire to quit can be stronger. You can do this :)

If you want to quit, then quit.
If you really still want a fix, then treat it as such.
    You decide.

Cutting down is the hard part. I dd it for a couple days, read stories and believed that I was ready to quit AHEAD of time. I would rather dive into cold water than to inch in. Just make up you mind.

Not only is it prolonging the quit , but you will live every second waiting for the next alloted one.
Yes, cut down on a few naturally in the beginning and change how you see them. How much they actually cost, and go up in smoke.....that's your future, in more ways than one.
    Taste them. Taste the poisons.
Smoke in a corner, alone, just you and it. See how entertaining it can be.
Do it in the bathroom, like you do your medication. Smoking is only a way to inject your fix of nicotine after all.
Don't you have better things to do than waste time , money and health talking to a cigarette in the bathroom corner while getting your fix?

We are stronger than nicotine. We have a mind. We have will.
Change the way you think of smoking and quitting can be easy.

Down to 5 a day is awesome. Next step zero per day. I've done it with no NRT this time and find there is alot of strength in knowing that there is nothing to wean myself off the job is done. I have also found that sharing where I'm at on here and more importantly reading and commenting on other people's stories helps strengthen my nicotine addiction recovery. Take the leap and put them down for good. Day one was tough for me and I spent the day in bed day two was a little easier and day three easier again. Stay with us and never quit trying to quit. Best wishes to you ❤️

Quitting smoking/nicotine is all about changing the way you see at it. If you are in perfect mind-set, it won't take much efforts to stop smoking. Little bit of willpower and all you need is the correct mindset.
I would to suggest you a book named 'Easy way to stop smoking' by Alan Carr. It helped me alot. It's more than 9 months that I quit smoking after reading his book. It will help you too.
One more suggestion, go for Cold turkey method. Never cut down.
