Posted in Getting started 28 Apr 2021

Hi, today is Day 1 of starting the quitting process and I'm scared of failing. Smoking is just plain STUPID and that is one of the reasons I will stop.

You have obviously posted without reading some of the latest post about FEAR. Read and Learn. through some responses given. We are here to help in any way that we can, but you need to believe that you can quit and you do not have to fear. Many have quit , what makes you special?
Think positive, if you are negative before you even start you will not succeed. If you think that you can't do it, you won't.

This is not a passing phase. It is a change that you want to make for the rest of your life. Why would you feel you will fail when you want it so badly. When you really want something you will find a way....or make an excuse. FEAR....Forget Excuses /Accept Reality.
The reality is that smoking never did anything for you.
Cravings are mere thoughts, put them aside immediately and find something to do
Embrace the quit, as it is the best thing that we can ever do for ourselves and our loved ones.
Nicotine is not as strong as we have been led to believe.
Our minds are our worst enemy or our best friend. Use it to your advantage.
Learn the mindset. You Can do this.

Hi Happiness, thank you for those encouraging and realistic comments. I have just re-read the latest FEAR posts and "listened" to them properly. I've always battled with negativity... time to be positive now. "Forget Excuses / Accept Reality"

Hi Ange2. Its $185.50 every friday I get to keep(for myself) from the tobacco retailers.
And that's just one good reason!
No excuses now_ just makes cent's

Being in SA, I will deny the tobacco retailers R 185 / week.
