Congratulations that’s fantastic. I’m currently on 3 weeks at the moment but I’m also taking champix because I tried cold turkey but went straight back. Lately my moods have been feeling like I lost a friend that’s the only way I can explain it and it’s weird, is that quite normal and wondering how you guys coped with that if you had that happen? But I’m determined not to and I keep telling myself that and taking one day at a time :)

Hi Mia,when I stopped I managed to stop cold turkey, but I did have a phase where I felt a bit down and flat, but to be honest I think that these moods are part of the withdrawal process, because after all smoking is a drug, and we have been drug addicts,so I think it’s perfectly normal to have a period like this earlier on in our quitting process,so now we accept it and think of the positive ways to overcome it and increase our natural dopamine in our bodys,I choose to go running as part of my therapy because it makes me feel good,I love cooking, that took me through part of my rough spell early on too,I walk quite a lot it’s fantastic for the mind,I like watercolour painting, even tho I’m not very good at it it’s therapeutic, so choose a couple of things you really enjoy Mia and Embrace them through the rough patch, because the rough patch will Pass Mia,and once it has,and you’ve got through it and won the phsychological battle, the feeling you get inside is udiscribable, you feel like you’ve achieved you feel empowered you feel worthy and you realise that you are strong and you can achieve, and this belief that you can, spreads into the other avenues of your life too Mia and you’ll feel unstoppable,so keep battling through Girl, think positive thoughts,do positive things, your well on your way now to being smokefree,as happiness said to me when I first started my quit, win the battle Give nicotine the boot,it’s the best feeling in the world, take day by day, every day set yourself a goal and go for it,I’m so proud of you Girl, keep it up,and remember N.O.P.E, ...NOT ONE PUFF EVER,tell yourself it every day, once ,twice.....twenty times if you like....and Win the battle Mia 😀x

Thanks so much @newchapter i am currently on 4 weeks as of yesterday now. Taking it day by day. But i am noticing i have been a bit more positive and good moods, I get irritable from time to time but not as much as i once did. I also got my second prescription of champix but only needing 1 tablet a day not 2 as the 2nd tablet was making me feel sick! But i do notice the little changes which i am liking alot more then when i smoked, I still have slight urges or cravings but i just do things with my hands or i watch a movie and let it pass. And i've been getting out in the fresh air more which helps with moods and how im feeling extremely i haven't found something i really really want to do yet but i keep trying, and this forum has really helped me i see so many people achieve and each day im not smoking the better off i am i notice i can even breathe better which is fantastic. But also what i think to is the champix is stopping the cravings but im actually doing the most work which i am proud of and i'll keep telling myself that day in and day out! I know i can do it and thanks so much girl! your doing fantastic keep at it! well done xx
