well  i have finally stopped . the best thing i did was going to my doctor and telling him i want to stop smoking. he put me on champix, that was the best thing i ever did. after 44 years of smoking i am now nicotine free and what a feeling that is. it was so easy i never had any side effects, no weight gain, no mood swings, actually my partner reckons i am more mellow i sleep better no coughing. well i hope everyone is going great and good luck to you all.

I have a prescription for Champix and I'm ready to start taking them tomorrow. I phoned the quitline tonight for some extra support (I know it's late but I'm a shift worker and not long home from work). The woman on the line was so rude and degrading, I don't think I will ever phone the quitline again!!!!!

Hi Nicole, Give the Champix a go. I haven't smoked for 9 1/2 weeks and have 2/12 weeks to finish the course. Champix have a support programme on line - "mytimetoquit.com.au". I've found it good for me especially in the first few weeks when I didn't feel great. Keep us posted. Good luck.
