Mindset is key

Hi everyone, after reading through a few stories today and noticing a few people struggling to stay quit, I thought I would share.

If you have read a lot of posts on here we talk a lot about mindset...it is key. Some folks want to quit and see how it goes...others make the decision to quit forever.....there is a huge difference in this thinking. The first one is already giving you an out if you don’t win....the second one does not give you an out under any circumstances. To be successful you must have a strong mindset. I am not going to try and quit ..... I am going to quit forever. That means no sneaky puffs, no buying them and no borrowing them. If you have the right mindset you won’t want them.....full stop. If you are wanting them, then you are not in the right headspace for wanting to quit. Think about it, really think about it. You feel like the very thing that you don’t want in your life anymore. Once the decision is made go for it like your life depends on it....because it does x

Thank you robn my mindset certainly is something I will be taking a look at. One thing i am learning is i need to be more open to the advice and wisdom of others I can sometimes think i know it all and can do it my way. I am going to quit forever x

Good for you Jess, that is the attitude that will get you through. Make them something you hate and do now want in your life ever again. Once you have that belief nothing will tempt you to ever smoke again and we do not crave what we don’t want. I was a slave to the disgusting habit for 48 years....if I can do it so can you.
While you are working on your mindset....really learn to hate and I do mean hate everything about smoking, remind yourself of all that it has taken from you, money, health, self esteem etc....this will help you to hold true to what you want to achieve......there is nothing positive about smoking...it is an illusion to keep us hooked. Go girl you can do this x

Smoking is an illusion....smoke and mirrors. It never did anything for us except make us its slave. Feed me , feed me or i will torture you. Well it is not a torture when you decide "ENOUGH" and you WANT better. You can quit smoking. I did after 40 years, cold turkey and had no cravings becaused i finallly believed I could thanks to people like Robn. You can quit too. Just decide "ENOUGH".

Its a frame of mind, thats for sure.
Developing a real hatred for a putrid smelling, expensive stick of evil weed that can skew our thinking is definitely a good start for the mindset.
    Good post Robn
