4months 2weeks

Posted in Quit experiences 14 Aug 2020

At 4months I was ok. Discomfort periodically appears.I was fine about it. Until today!

I open my social media account and I read something from a friends post. She's looking for an oxygen refill. The husband diagnosed as covid patient. And then boom! That was my trigger. I'm having panic attacks Right now. My breathing feels like I'm having too much oxygen and I cant handle it.this is not from quitting related anymore, is it?

You know answer.. no, it's not related with ciggie.. it's just new reality which you need to face.. it's negative situation, so you react to it also negative, which is normal.. but you will help more when you stay possitive and support your friend and concentrate to him not yourself.. you know, life is 20% what happend to us and 80% how we react to it.. take breathe excercise, walk away for short time or somehow clear your head and fece to this situation as best as you can.. be strong and be non smoker.. ;)

Hi Sadm3. While I am sadden by the bad news that affects you so badly, keep off the ciggies. They will not help the situation. You know that. Stay strong and help you friend through this critical time. Keep us posted. We are here for you.

Being scared of covid is the same as watching a movie blindfolded. Thinking cigarettes will help you with your fears is the same as buying a gun and shooting yourself in the knee before going for a run.

Thanks guys. I managed to calm my self down somehow. I guess I'm not ready to watch news and access my social media account yet. I can't handle this new normal. I'm terrified. Thanks for the positive comments guys. Stay safe.

Quell, nope. Not a single thought about going back And smoke again. As the smell of a cigarette makes me sick. I don't know but it smells bad now. And I have this not so good new hobby. Whenever I'm sad or happy, or stressed. I eat!

Try to look at the bright side Sadm3. You and your kids are safe and still diligently doing so I suspect. Good for you. We may not be able to cure the world , but we can protect ourselves. Keep using common sense and good for you for your excellent commitment to be a happy non=smoker! Eat nutritiously! You can only eat so much carrot and celery!
