First of all, thank you to this community. You all have gotten me through tough times.
I am 57 days nicotine free and having good and bad days. I am 30 years old and have smoked for 6 years and vaped for 6.
My main symptoms are constant throat clearing (not coughing), desire to take deep breaths, and heart palpitations a couple times a week. (Feels like strong pulse and racing heart) then goes away after a few minutes. I feel like it’s all anxiety to be honest. I know that my head has the ability to make my symptoms better or worse. I also read on here that others have experienced it.
Most of my symptoms have eased, I haven’t had a heart palpitation in over 2 weeks but just had one yesterday. Lately my chest is just a little uncomfortable, this comes and goes. I’m always spitting up clear phlegm from my throat.
Week 1 I called an ambulance because I thought I was having a heart attack. They said my vitals were fine. Week 3 I went to the ER for the same thing. They did an EKG, said seems like anxiety and sent me home. I followed up with my PCP and he said my lungs and heart sound fine. It sounded like generalized anxiety due to quitting and it should go away.
Am I just learning how to deal with this mentally for the first time without nicotine stimulating me? Has anyone else had it this bad? I have moments where I feel great and think I’m in the clear, then something comes back and I begin searching google trying to find a disease that fits... so annoying. Feels like a little devil is on my shoulder and refuses to let it go. Thanks again for everyone one here! Staying strong, no urge to go back.
