Hi Case, you have to make a smoke something that you don’t want....not something you can’t have. Once you change your thinking it will be soooo much easier.
As long as you want one, you will battle against your self all the time. When the cravings hit...take a moment to reflect on why you are quitting, reinforce the positives. Then go do something and focus your mind on a task rather than in that craving until it passes. I smoked for nearly 50 years and once I changed my attitude to smoking, I have not had cravings, I do not envy people that I see smoking and I definitely believe it is the best gift that I have given myself. I am a few days off of two years quit......
You too can do it but you must really want to quit

Hi Case, its day 2 which is the the heavy end and the next few days as well. accept that life is now without the horrid cigarette, welcome the thoughts and know that they are only thoughts and not fact, in other words welcome your thoughts don't fight but observe and don't buy into them. If you buy into them you will have a cigarette. I used this technique with success. hang in there my friend 2 days is a great achievement.

Yes, point who commented are point on. Urges, or cravings are but thoughts. Either accept them and know you are winning and the nicotine monster is at your mercy , or ignore him by finding something else to do. While you have to deal with those smoking around you, do not envy them, for you certainly will not when ititiation is over. Perhaps look for the underlying truths. It is a fix. They will need to sneak off to feel better and even stand in inclement weather to do it. You are free. Watch how the first drag satisfies and the rest is robotic. Most of all change your view of cigarettes. In a few days they will be envious of You. Free. We all have wished we could quit but dismissed it as being too difficult and accepting fate for a foulish act decades ago. We were drugged and brainwashed. We are proof that you can choose to be free. You were brave enough to join us and take the first steps. We are with you all the way. You can do it!
