Day 4

Well technically 3 days 17hrs smoke free, but just finishing up Day 4.

This was the 1st day I was worrying about, since I was back at work. I do a lot of work related driving and usually spend my days smoking while out and about. Before my quit day I practiced a few times driving to places without lighting up to show myself I could do it. Think it helped becuse I got through today quite essily in terms of giving in while driving. Still had the urge but managed to fight it off each time..

Im really working hard on changing my mindset from feeling the urge and wanting to give in, to happy to never wnt or crave them again. A real boost came the morning of Day 3 when out of the blue I had a tremendous

    Sorry, accidentally pressed publish. Oops. Continuing....

    Surge of energy and waves of happiness come over me. It gave me a real moment of clarity that I just dont want to smoke anymore. For the first time I could see what a smoke free future would be like, rather than just theoretically what it would be.
    Ive noticed more energy, easier breathing and better sense of smell in these 4 days. Dont think taste is quite back yet, but looking fwd to that. The wife and I will go out somewhere for a meal to enjoy my new sense of taste. Im thinking Thai.

    One day at a time, but 4 days in. Im going ok.

    Well done PV, you have got the mindset now...keep going. You haven’t given anything just choose not to smoke. Remember that.
    I smoked for 48 years and I am now quit for just over a is so amazing without the smokes....I can’t believe I ever smoked at all.
    One day at a time....make sure you reward yourself along the way. Stay strong

    I am impressed PV. Keep those positive thoughts and know that you are through the worst few days and things get easier. Strive for that goal that you have envisioned and you will reach it. The Mind is a powerful thing!

    Thanks guys. Halfway through Day 5. What Ive been using today when the urges kick in, is to say to myself "Theres no point giving in now and gaving to go back to the start. Today is easier than Day 1. Why make it hard on yourself and go back?"

    I trust you are doing well at this time...a whole week. Could you ever have imagined that. Was it really as difficult as you dreaded? Fear immobilizes us into doing nothing which leads credibility to the phrase..There is nothing to fear but fears itself.
    You have learned that you are stronger than your thought, with a positive motivation, drive and will. You are feeling more in control and more confident everyday and i hope that you are still embracing the idea of being a happy non-smoker.

    Positive thoughts bring positive results!

    Hi Happiness. Yep today is day 7! Ive had quite a few cravings today, but mental ones not physical. Probably more today than Ive had since day 1 or 2. Ive found it tough but have held on and hvent cracked. I thought Id had the mental side worked out but obviously have some ways to go. Definitely still a happy non smoker tho. Ive found myself actually saying out loud "No!" When my mind starts to wonder towrds smoking....obviously only when Im alone 😁.
    Yeah the fear made it seem it was going to be worse than it actually was. I knew it got easier after first few days, but was worried about the early going.
