Cold Turkey

Posted in Getting started 21 Mar 2019

Today I started my Quit journey. I am going Cold Turkey as I am sceptical about stop smoking aids. I am 66 and have been smoking on and off since I was 17. My hubby is helping me, he gave up about 30 years ago. My one tip is "one foot in front of the other" every day I don't smoke is one step closer to quitting forever.

Hi Cazpritch. I quit smoking (cold turkey)and no cravings after the first 3 days. I was taking a ginger and turmeric lung cleanse during and prior to quitting to clear my lungs. I had no intentions of quitting, but the ingredients curb cravings and overall is a great immune booster as well as anti-inflammatory and much more. Making up your mind to quit is essential to lesser withdrawals. You will not crave what you do not want. See the negatives of smoking and embrace this journey to betterment. Anyone can quit smoking, just want , believe and you will.

Congratulations on deciding to quit. It's never too late Kudos to your husband for helping. Just remember, whenever the urge hits, give it 5 minutes. It WILL pass, I promise. Good luck! 😃

Hi Cazpritch, you picked the right strategy. Before you know it you'll be 1 week smoke free and then 1 month, and so on. It's going to be hard in the beginning but totally worth it. Just don't compromise with your addiction, not one puff ever (nope) or you'll be back to square one. Good luck and congrats on your decision.
