Anxiety causing digestion issues

Hi Guys

I'm 33days smoke free, im still dealing with the anxiety which is leaving my stomache in knots.

Any idea how long this lasts and where i can find a break down on whats happening to my body ?

    Hi Tatiana, firstly congratulations for going over a month smoke free. The physical and emotional effects of quitting are different for each person. I have heard many people say physically they feel worse for months before they feel better, probably due to all the nasty toxins leaving your body.
    When you get anxious I encourage you to sit still and like a neutral scientist examine how your body feels, starting from your head right down to your toes. This is a mindfulness exercise and it is all about observation in the moment. Try to not make emotional judgments about how you feel just observe the actual physical sensation. This exercise helps to put distance between the emotions and the physical and handle that psychical sensation of anxiety better.
    The next step is to ask yourself what can I do physically that can make these uncomfortable physical sensations feel better. It may be doing stretching, drinking some water, having a shower or bath, or some deep breathing, or many other things.
    The trick with the two steps is to focus on the physical reality and get away from the mental torment. Often we can amplify the suffering we experience by how we think about it, so this mindfulness disengages that.
    What I do know is the longer you go without smoking and getting used to not having the nicotine in your bloodstream the better it will become. Some see changes in weeks, others many months. Try not to be deterred, you are not alone in these uncomfortable feelings.

    Drinking water is a must ! Also healthy eating and deep breathing exercises . All good for the mind and help de tox the body too
