Hi everyone! It's so good to come on here to find so many new and newish faces! I'm reading a lot of stories from people who are between four and ten weeks quit! Keep up the good work - you are in the victory lane now! I'm also seeing a lot of newbies asking questions about what is and isn't normal after quitting. Definitely keep asking questions. Live on these quit smoking pages, pre occupy yourself. Every minute of preoccupation is a minute that your brain is rewiring itself for success.

As I write this, I'm at 8 months and two days smoke free. I rarely think about cigarettes anymore. In fact, someone can be smoking right in front of me and it doesn't register in my brain that they are doing something that I used to love to do. I still think they are "delicious", but I don't want one. One thing I do notice is the cost. I feel sorry for people who shell out up to $13 usd per day for a couple packs of cigs. I can't believe I used to let money fly out of my bank account like that. I've been really sick. I have an autoimmune problem and I've even gone in to anaphylaxis recently from an allergy. So thankful I didn't have to add smoking to my concerns. If you are a praying person, please feel free to pray for me.

When I can, I will continue to check in. My body is quite tired these days, but t I still think about each of you as I know that you are marking the calendar off one day at a time with us. Please don't give up on you!

    Dear Wendy,

Firstly congratulations on 8 months that's
just fabulous!!! Secondly, gosh so sorry to
hear of your health problems but yes you
are right, at least you have the dreaded
smokes beat and that would have to help.
I'm allergic to advocadoes which is weird
because that only happened in my early
40's. Yep it's shocking the price of cigs.
Here they are about $35.60 for a pack of
40!!! In one way though, it may help
more people to quit due to the expense
and I know here, the price is on the rise
due to the government increasing the
    tax price.
Please take it easy and get plenty of rest.
Pop in when you can to give an update so
    we know how you're doing.
    Love, Kim x

Hi Wendy... I have been checking the site waiting for an update from you! You gave me good advice when I was having strong cravings at the 10 week mark and gave me courage to stay smoke free. I am relieved to read that you are not experiencing the intense and frequent cravings you had experienced in the past. I am around 120 days now and still taking it day by day. Some days are easier than others! From what I have read the cravings go down substantially after the 8 month mark?
