    Bonus, Bonus, Bonus

Hi Everyone, I am now 10 months and 1 week into my new life. I rarely, very rarely even think about my old life. Smoking is simply something I used to do...and have zero interest in ever doing again. For those of you who are finding it a struggle.....keep your thoughts positive and learn to despise those smokes. Make smoking something you no longer want in your life....not something you can’t ha...

    Depression and anxiety

Hi All, I have been reading quite a few posts lately regarding the feeling of anxiety and depression during the quit journey. We talk a lot about mindset for a very good reason....you will not crave what you truly do not want. The depression and anxiety because you have quit smoking is simply your subconscious telling you that you really miss smoking and you can’t cope without it....all of which ...

Hi All, so many new people on here, which is great. It made me realise that with the cost going up, many more people are being trendy and quitting the smokes. To be a non smoker is very trendy these days which is so great. Take it one day at a time, there is no fast track, just one day at a time. Deal with each challenge as it arises...you will do your head in if you try to predict too far ahead....

    Stay strong and alert

Stay strong and alert, 8 months today for me, but I came close to disaster the other day. My daughter had some bad news and she is a smoker, she visited me to tell me her troubles and I came close to having a puff. I don’t even know why the thought came into my head...stress has always been my main trigger though. Luckily I walked away and got control back, but it shows that no matter how long we...

    Support for all

Posted in Hints and tips 1 Jan 2019

We need to support everyone in a positive way.....we do not need quoted passages from books etc, we do not need people standing on their soap boxes dishing out advice as if they know all there is to know. We simply need to quietly encourage and support anyone that needs it. Everyone has a point of view, but I honestly believe there are some who are giving advice that has not been asked for. Somet...

    Quitting once

Posted in Hints and tips 31 Dec 2018
    7 Comments

Hi All Some may feel that they will always miss smoking, life will be miserable without a smoke and this can hold some people back from succeeding in their quit journey. They are subconsciously railroading their quit so that their lifestyle doesn’t change. I know because I have done it myself. Half of you wants to quit and the other half is scared of a new and different lifestyle. I smoked ...

    Just a thought

Posted in Hints and tips 15 Dec 2018

I was just thinking about how I felt when I first started my quit journey. I would read the stories on here and think...I will never be able to do what these people have done. And they make it sound so damn easy....don’t they struggle some days? They are so positive and keep going on about how easy it can be. I have had more quit attempts than hot dinners and none of them were easy...until this o...

    Weight gain

Posted in Hints and tips 11 Dec 2018

I was talking to a friend the other day about how a lot of people think by remaining smokers they will not put weight on. I said to her that is a wired thought process because you see a lot of over weight people who are smokers. Her reply “that is why god made black and elastic”....I thought that was hilarious..... We all get to a point in our lives when we gain some weight...if we are lucky and...

Hi All Yay 6 months today....but I don’t have time to lay about feeling great about myself. Reese and Leanne are close behind me and breathing down my neck...lol. But I am proud of how well we have all done so far....next big celebration will be 12 months quit. Can’t wait for that one. Thanks everyone who kept me on my game, especially Red67 who’s advice and common sense approach to quitting was...
