Hi I haven't ben on on here for 3 years and just thought I'd check in to see how much I have saved from not smoking in 4 years. Over $15,000!! Just wanted to let anyone that is struggling with their quitting that it does get easier and as you get further away from your last cigarette how proud of yourself you become and how free you feel when you are not chained to your packet of smokes anymore. ...

Hello to all my fellow quitters. Just wanted to let all you early quitters know that there is a light at the end of what can seem a really long tunnell. I used this site when I first started my quit and found the stories of other people really helpful to get me through the first few weeks, and I am very happy to say I have not had one slip in the year since I quit, despite some really hard tim...

    Just breathe!

Posted in Hints and tips 31 Oct 2012

It has been 108 days without a smoke now and the one tip I would like to share is that if you are faced with a stressful situation where your first thought is "I need a smoke" just stop and take a really deep breath (like the one you would take on your first puff of a cigarette when you are stressed) and it really does help. If you do this a couple of times the urge will go away.  Once ...

Hi just wanted to share that I am 31 days smoke free. I am currently on holiday in Vietnam and really thought it would be difficult to be on holiday and not smoke but it has been really easy. I did have some stressfull news before I came away - my dog had to have surgery for suspected cancerous lumps and I found out my job was being made redundant, all the day before I flew out of the country a...

    Day 10 today

Hi All Fellow Quitters - I am so happy on my 10th day.  The cravings are getting less and I feel really proud of myself.  Haven't had a moment yet where I was tempted to light up - each time I get a craving just remind myself that yes this feels horrible but I will get through it.

    Day 6 and feeling good

Day 6 today without a smoke and I have to say I am very proud of myself. Have not even come close to having one (and I have kept a packet in the house as I feel if I dont have any there I am not ''choosing" not to smoke but rather can't because I dont have any - if that makes sense). I have found that the intense craving has dies down - rather than getting overwhelmed with the feeling that I...

    Day 3

Have almost made it through day 3 (I am watching the clock waiting until I can go to bed - how sad!) I know it is early days but I am feeling really positive in my quitting. Each time I get a craving I just tell myself "suck it up you did this to yourself so now you need to undo it" and this is working for me. I have been cutting up apples into small pieces and snacking on thi...

Ok so I am on Day 2 of my quit - started taking Champix on 3/7/12 and stopped smoking on day 13.  So far so good - have had some serious cravings today worst was when I got into work and had to face the day without my normal nicotine hit!  Anyway just wondering how others are finding their first week and how long it has taken some of you to stop having the constant cravings (coming...
