My partner and I have just returned from 2 weeks in Thailand and this is the first time that we have been on holidays where I have not smoked. I forgot to say in my post a few minutes ago that I know for a fact that I could not have done it without this site. There were a few hairy times when I was so close to caving in and I logged on to this site (in desperation) and re-read success stories. Only from doing that was I able to get my head back into the no smoking zone again.
I quit smoking on 10 September 2017 and today is Day 20 for me. I have smoked for 30 years and never in my life did I think I could get through 2 days, let alone 20. Some days are easy and some days are challenging, but the challenging days are getting less and less. One thing I have found unbelievably helpful is joining this site and getting supportive comments from you guys.
Yesterday, 10 September 2017, was the first day of not smoking for me, after many years of smoking, loving it, hating it, making excuses for it and thinking that it was my friend. I was not a heavy smoker, but a regular smoker in the evenings and no matter how many you smoke, a habit is a habit.
