Welcome to the iCanQuit community this is your opportunity to share with your fellow community members any tips, stories or advice you may have around quitting smoking or staying quit.
Still coming to terms with the quitting process. Really appreciate Man Child and IC posts.
It should get better after all this time. Should be on the upside.
I guess because I used the smokes as a crutch instead of dealing with other issues. Back soon with more positives.
1. Reading the posts of everyone on this site. Inspiration and also understanding of the start of the journey. To a smoke free life.
Thanks to all who keep on posting. Hope that you realise how very special you are. You are not counsellors, just very special people who continue to support newbies as I am.
You understand the addiction more than anyone. And have overcome it.
2. Understanding th...
The nicotine is meant be out in three days, so it is really just now a grieving for a sinister "friend".
You were never a friend.
Bonsoir, Good night , Rest in Peace.
Interesting day. LOL Have been reading a heap of "veterans" posts right now and it just is so good to read everyone's stories. Makes so much sense at the end of a sort of ugly day.
There is a " light at the end of the tunnel". Each of you have proven that, with courage and purpose.
That you moved through the tunnel and came out the other side. Nothing bad happened - you got your life back!
Thanks to each of you special people who posted. For my day one.
Day two - as you would imagine it has been a little ugly, but got through so far and plan to keep doing that.
Just feel so well supported by this community.
Helped so much on this journey.
Tomorrow will be better. When I am over "the hump" I plan to be a better participant in this community.
Got through the first few hours of the day. They were a bit hard. Next were easy. This is such a self -centred thing that I am sharing with all. Guess that is all of our journeys to a nicotine free life. Thanks all for sharing your journeys.
Will post again tomorrow evening.
I think I will take the prize for being a serial quitter! On line.
Not this time.
Lia - you gave me the plan to look at this website for the one post that saw the turn around from this addiction . And it is Wee Willem and you who tweaked the rest.
Just give up for the day.
Nothing terrible will happen.
Yes I am afraid of the hold that nicotine has on me.. but stay back devil. You...
Hi all. Proud of this so far. However, I know my limitations so well. The start is full of determination etc, then the little nicotine monster rears its head again. I am going to catch up with non smoking friends this weekend ( who don't know I still smoked). I guess this was part of the plan. I will have no access to smokes, no triggers. Also continuing the lies of being a non- smoker.
Many previous attempts were unsuccessful as there was no plan. This time there is. No more smokes, cold turkey is best.
Looking forward to the journey, it will be the hardest of my life.
Previous attempts were unsuccessful as I was not determined enough and excuses to smoke were everywhere.
Tomorrow is my birthday and perhaps a chance at life.
Tomorrow is my quit t...
Just wish to say thank you to each of you who keep on posting with your awesome achievements. It is an inspiration to hear each of your goalposts. Done and dusted. Oh dear, this has been a very hard start, restarting on Sunday, I am an intelligent human being, know what I am doing to myself and keep doing it. It is now, I understand, just addiction. Simple as that. Reading each of your sp...
