I am a 54 year old woman who has smoked for 36 years.
I have attempted quitting around 10 times over the past 20 years, managing to last 18months the last time I tried ( around 7 years ago) I notice how bad my skin looks, how much phlegm I have every morning and how much my apartment smells. So,armed with patches and determined to successfully wipe this addiction from my system,I am here.
Hi, I just joined the group here and hope I can be as successful as some of you have been. I'm actually seeking advice on the natural types of herbs that I may be able to use to help me quit.
I can't use any of the OTC or prescribed products, as I have tried them a found to be allergic to whatever is in them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi everyone, I am super new here and using all of your posts as my support network to help me through! Im day 8 now and haven't had a very easy day of it, the struggle is real. I've been reading Allen Carr and listening to podcasts to find my resolve, and trying to distract myself with work. I'm hoping it gets easier soon! Any tips gratefully appreciated!
Hi everyone, this is my umpteenth attempt at quitting. In my 47 years, I’ve been smoking for almost 35 years of those, and a heavy smoker for the last 20 years. Today I’m on Day 2, Cold Turkey. I’ve only had 2 big cravings today, which was a surprise in itself, as I stated I’m a heavy smoker. 1 I was able to distracted myself working in my backyard, but to 2nd craving I seriously considered going...
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I found an old story with a link to a pdf file that I think would help many. The author takes key points from Allan Carr's book and makes note of them so you don't have to read the entire book. (although I recommend that you do!) Why suffer when you should be rejoicing the fact that you are beating the addiction to nicotine and hence the harmful effects of smoking
Hi Everyone. I am day 9 into taking Champix. Quut day is the 12th. Did anyone suffer from facial sweats, nausea and vomiting after having a smoke whilst taking higher dose tablet?
Hello, I am new to this group. I have been a smoker off and on since I was 16. I am now 46. I have tried several times off an on through the years to quit and have had some success, but have always gone back to it. I now have a 6 yr old granddaughter and my boys are 18 and 26. I want to be there for them as long as I can. Also, my husbands ex-wife just died from lung cancer (age 59). So, I ...
I’m on day 16 and still smoking! Today I didn’t smoke all day but have had 2 tonight. I feel like I’m failing at this and going to just keep smoking through the bad taste and not enjoying it because of the damn habit!
Start fresh in the morning after not smoking all night and also have a plan for the first day to stay busy
So 25th was my original quit date but at 1pm I caved and decided just 1 that led to 3 and so on for the next 2 days
But today I’m so proud to say not a single one 😍 even with the temptation of hubby still smoking 🤞🏼🤞🏼
