Wow what a journey I have been on in quitting smoking for good. I found out a packet of 20 cigarettes is now around $50 here. Thats $2.50 each smoke. Also the cigarettes have new labels on the butts, like Poison in every puff, and toxic addiction and so on. That really drives the point home that every cigarette is doing one damage. And the cost financially just is not worth it. My mindset has changed and the negative thoughts around my quit are subsiding. I just feel mostly positive and always finding things to do whether its an activity outside or pottering around my home, re-arranging things etc.

I have always said that mindset was key. If you went about this quit as a negative thing in your life, then it will be. Acceptance is being happy with our decision makes it so much easier.

I remember the last few puffs of my last few cigarettes and tasting the poison in them. I did it in the kitchen taking time out of my day. Changing my mindset allowed me to not even have cravings once I went cold turkey. Strange but true!

For those needing help I strongly recommend reading Allan Carr's book......How to Stop Smoking Permanently.

Proud of you Cuba, keep up the great positive mindset.

Yes I totally agree with you Happiness that MIndset is key. I had negative thoughts when I quit. Some people are able to quit cold turkey and succeed because they are so determined. It is all in the mind. The negative thoughts I had were around believing I could not succeed. But I proved myself wrong. I Have succeeded. And seeing how I feel super positive about quitting and my life in general. Thanks for being there in my journey.
