It gets better eventually

Returning back to the site after a long gap.

I recently went past my 5 year quit milestone without even realizing it! I had but only a vague awareness of the milestone.

I had often complained about my smoke dreams and they used to stress me as a sign that I may slip up. However over the last year and more, those dreams have stopped.

I can also enjoy alcohol every now and then without the fear of slipping up

All the best to you all!

That is so awesome! Your son must be very proud of you.

Time goes and we rarely if ever think about smoking contrary to some beliefs. We do not live in misery for years. A brief period of discomfort is well worth the effort. And i bet that you have saved enough for another trip to London.

Well done.

Thanks for your kind words!

The best part is that my son, now 15, does not remember me ever smoking because I never smoked in front of him :-)

I did go back to London, this time with my wife to watch some cricket.

And I am planning another trip in the summer of 2025 for more cricket. This time with the whole family.
