Getting there

A day at a time
I quit ,I gave up, 35 years ago , a pack of 25 was $3.25 , I joined a 3 ppl group that was giving up , I said what about me .. I joined in I was the least likely to succeed, I got through my first 24 hours , and I said out load . " if that's the worst you can throw at me I got you @#@%Ed. I hung on to that for a long time now it's a memory . I haven't smoked or had a puff since I quit. Yep it can be done.

I would never let someone rule my life, why did I let smoking? FEAR. Fear of having to endure cravings constantly, and probably the worst fear .....that I could not quit smoking. Both are lies of course. We can quit smoking when we want to, and we are more willing when we know some facts, see others succeed and know that we are not alone.
I am glad that you quit smoking successfully even if your friend may not have. A real desire to quit is needed, not making it a contest of who can hold out the longest. That is real will power and takes a lot out of you. Desire is key.
