Lung mass or not & more

I started smoking in 1984. Over the years I've quit a few times, the longest time was 4 years. I noticed I had digital clubbing, so I went to the GP and got a CXR. As an ex-nurse, I can read xrays, so as soon as the images were uploaded, I took a look and could see that my ILD had gotten worse and my heart was slightly enlarged. However, when I went to the GP follow up, the CXR had shown a mass in my lung. So off I went for a HRCT, and apparently there is no mass.
Good news, right? Wrong! There's no mass in my lungs, just my ILD but instead of the mass, I have lesions on my liver and enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes.
I wish I could go back to 1984 and not be so stupid.

Don't we all wish. After all, no one wishes they smoked!
How could we believe that we would get addicted to something we gagged on when first starting out.
Don't be too hard on yourself, we just have to move forward now and believe that we can be free from this very harmful addiction. The body is amazing in itself and does have tremendous healing power. We need to support it at this time with all we can do. Quit smoking, eat nutritious food and exercise. Staying positive is also important in seeing things through. We can quit smoking. We are stronger than we think!

Good morning Sal70 smoking is an adiction we did’d reall fully understand that when we started

my apologies i am having issues with the site
I will try again
Back in the 70’s and 80’s we didn’t fully realise how addictive smoking really was. quitting even later in life can still have a positive impact on health.I sincerely wish you all the best and i hope your health improves.
