Hi Kylie.

Congratulations on your persistence to quit smoking. You quit for 9 months before and I hope this time you are finding it easier in the morning. If so , perhaps you could tell us what worked for you this time.

The nicorette chewing gum site says each one contains 3-5 calories. A max of 24 consumed per day and should not be taken any more than 12 weeks. It instructs to wean yourself from the addiction every month dropping the usage.

Perhaps using the patch would be a good alternative, no calories and no chewing action to become habitual. Maybe chew regular gum in the beginning .

I hate that ICanQuit limits your response. But when you WANT to do something or SAY something, you will find a way. Otherwise, it is an EXCUSE not to, a cop out.

The Mindset is what I prescribe most. Find the WANT to quit smoking, find the DESIRE to change and BELIEVE that you can. Invest in yourself with Allan Carr's book to help with this. You are doing great Kylie. Keep active to shed the few unwanted pounds and feel great about your self and your decision to choose change.

Good Luck with it Kylie. While you broke the habitual habit and physical aspect of smoking with NRT's (nicotine replacement therapy), you still need to use patches temporarily and wean yourself of them over time as well.
