So it has been a while since I have contributed to this group. I celebrated 4 years smoke free on 1st December. Now 1463 days smoke free and a saving of, get this: $28,523 and it is probably more than that because I bet smokes have gone up in the last 4 years! My journey has been rewarding in that I can breathe so much easier! I am not constantly looking for somewhere to hide so I can have a smoke (I do not miss that!). I hardly see anyone else smoking these days. We travel the countryside and stay at caravan parks. We were parked up next to a couple smoking (the only time in 3 years of travel). It blew into our ensuite so I just closed the window. The smell is not very pleasant. I would never complain because I was there once. I loved this site as every time I felt the urge in the early days I would come on here and by the time I had finished writing or reading the urge was gone and I could then get on with it. So to all you people out there struggling. I get it. I will never be an anti smoker like so many ex smokers are. You have your journey and only you alone can make the change. Keep at it. I smoked for 40 years. Never once did I go a day without until I gave up. I always knew if I could just go one day without it would be game on! I did it and the rest is now history. My lungs are thanking me for it and yours will too when you get there. You are all champions because you are trying and that is the start!

A wonderful milestone Puffer. Thanks for sharing and encouraging others. It does get easier with time and acceptance. I love being a non-smoker and the freedom, extra cash and health benefits. Enjoy your status, I do!
