Struggle

I am having difficulty with the N.R.T. It is addictive. I am concerned that if I don't have it, I will crave cigarettes. I therefore am trying to wean myself from lozenges. I haven't had a cigarette since the
09/04/2019. I am proud to have some time up. Somehow, iDon't feel as if it's over. Maybe I need to rethink it.

Hello Penelopejane....it is good to hear from you and awesome to hear that you are still smoke free. Fantastic job1
It is indeed unfortunate when one becomes or continues to become addicted to the nicotine in a quit smoking aid. Nicotine is not as harmful as the other components in a cigarette, so be proud and thankful that you are letting your body heal and to have extra money in your pocket. I hope you are still enjoying your treats, your lovely garden and Bobby.
I know that you were insistent on doing things your way, and you have. Perhaps you will try to learn the mindset that we speak of and convince yourself that you CAN make the break from the nicotine addiction.
You have already gone through the change of habits, of having to have the comfort of a cigarette with you. You have already proved to yourself that you no longer need it. I hope you have also come to no long DESIRE it.
Just abstaining from smoking is not the same as being free from smoking.
When you realize that there is nothing that the cigarette gives you, that it does absolutely nothing for you, then I should think that you will come to the realization that you are missing out on NOTHING. Do you miss the expense?
Buy things that make you happy. Be proud that you laid those filthy things down. Take strength from the fact that you did it. Take courage and know that you can walk away from nicotine too. Walking away from the nicotine is much easier than accepting a new lifestyle foreign to you. That part is short lasting and I know you have the determination and can did your heels in for the 3 or 4 days it takes. Cravings really are just thoughts. However if you think it will be hard it will be. Even so, it should be a piece of cake for you. I don't know that I could have endured what you went through Penelopejane. I admire your strength and courage, and I know that you CAN make this final step.
You have come this far. You are stronger for it. Don't walk away from us once you walk away from nicotine. We need you here. Show us that we are stronger of nicotine and its horrible prison.
