One Month down

Managed to stay quit for one month now, stepped down from 21mg patch to 14 mg patch, staying strong. Going in for an operation (hip replacement) next Thursday, I will be five weeks clean by then. Then I have to stay quit to help manage my recovery.

Good job Jatchet. You can do this just as millions before you. I hope you are looking forward to being a non-smoker and the freedom and benefits that lie ahead for you. Embrace the liberty and joy that this journey has given you. It is not just abstaining for health reasons but a way of life that you have chosen. You finally understand that it just a drug addiction and excuses that we hid behind to cover our weakness. We are stronger than nicotine. We are free to choose again and once you are free and can make a CHOICE , we know what life you will choose. Good luck with your operation. The body is an amazing thing and will recover quickly when not having to deal with additional toxins.

Good luck on your operation Jatchat, I am sure it will go well for you, there will be a period of re-adjustment, as a friend of mine needed to walk a bit more to strenghthen the joints. We are very lucky to have this much needed replacement as we get older I have yet to have one.
One thing you might consider as you recuperate, when you are at your most vunerable, please practice NOPE (not one puff ever) every day.....This worked for me. Congratulations on one month quit.

Thank you all, operation was a success, home now, forget to put on a patch this morning what with the medication changes but have not noticed any cravings yet. Will definitely put on patch if cravings kick in

One Month, one week and three days quit now and three weeks off NRT, absolutely clean of all nicotine, just loving it!!!

Well after quit after quit Have now settled in to a two week quit. Distraction is the best, healthy diet and exercise help, but above all, faith in God is paramount for when we have exhausted all possibilities in our own strength, it's time to let go and let God.
