Maybe one of the best things newbies can do is to return to this site often initially and post how they are dealing with the quit trail. Quitters do well the they can share positive thoughts and why smoking for them is such a dead end pastime. What positive things can they offer to fellow quitters? The more positive posts made the more likely they are to believe it themselves. Say it, hear it, believe it and start living it. I still quote myself to myself... Posts resonate with fellow quitters and often spur them on to respond and form quit buddy scenarios. After almost 5 years quit cold turkey I know how much I owe to those who posted along with me and posts were often motivating and positive. Some very powerful thoughts were uttered. How often did I think, how clever was a particular statement? Still am blown away by the sentiments shared. There is never a full stop in this process nor is immunity ever guaranteed. I really like the clever ways quitters offer advice re NOPE.

You've got that right Red. I am so happy to be a non-smoker. I never thought I could quit , but seeing it is possible and understanding nicotine and my relationship with it helped immensely. It was even easier than I thought and then Allan Carr reinforced it. I believe checking in with this community will help ex-smokers to stay on track and remain grateful for finding their freedom. So many rewards for success!
