18 months today

Howdy,

So 18 months today. Its not easy. I'm one of those people who still thinks about nicotine multiple times a day even after 18 months.... I think I'll always feel this way... No, it's not as bad as the first three months but it is annoying.

Other news, I final.had the balls to get a chest. X-ray ... After 20 years of heavy smoking I was sure there would be cancer or other disease ... Nope. My lungs are as clean as someone who has never smoked.. so clear they heal much quicker than we have previously be told. Stay strong every one!

Yes think the negative of smoking and don't idolize them. Remember they did nothing for you and that while you were lucky that your lungs escaped being ravished, that other parts of your body may have suffered unknown damage. Take a deep breath and be so thankful and hopeful. The body and mind can heal when given the chance.

Great News on both counts of 18 months smoke free and your clear chest Xray results, what more positive proof have you than that.

Your problem of remembering the thoughts of smoking are just that....Memories which are in the past. I still think about those times or situations that I am in when I used to smoke and that is all that it is. The difference for me is that I am glad I don't need to light up when those thoughts come to mind. They are just thoughts let them float away.
