Vaping successfully helped me quit.

I have been a heavy 30+ a day smoker for near 17 years. I am now, for the first time, 42 days ciggarette free thanks to vaping. Already i have noticed a difference in my health. My skin, eyes, gums, less phlegm, easier breathing and less snoring. I'm less irratable and less lethargic. Luckily I have the options for flavoured E juice because I think having tobacco flavoured for me personally wouldn't have worked. It's early days but I haven't even had the temptation to buy more ciggarettes, even in stressful situations. They actually make my stomach churn. Vaping is saving my life.

Smoking cigarettes never solved anything. They never gave us anything except empty pockets, bad breath, burn holes and a life of adhering to its time table. Nicotine in any form is still an evil entity. The good news is that the nicotine addiction can be beaten and your freedom regained. Breaking the habits associated with smoking, the hand to mouth movement and replacing it with a healthy habit is easier to do when in the right mindset. Positive thinking, a plan and support from a wonderful site like iCanQuit can bring you results that you had once given up on.

Read Allen Carr and learn how to think like a non-smoker and truly be free. Be free like a non-smoker, they don't stand in the cold and rain shivering and catching cold to get their fix. They can enjoy a show without praying for intermission and a chance for that rush of dopamine. We find other ways of getting our dopamine through enjoying all of lifes little pleasure's and taking pride in our accomplishment of quitting smoking. We faced our fears and came out the winners. We are free, free, free. Hope someday you will wish to join us. You really can be free. Join us and learn how.

Sorry but Allen Carr does not work for everybody it's that simple.

Maybe you should worry about saving lives Happiness rather than bombard and criticize people for successfully quitting with their own methods..

All methods work remember.

I read Allen Carr book twice and it did nothing for me but Vaping did.

Allen Carr's book has worked for many many people and I think it is a great option but not the only one...

We are FREE FREE FREE of tobacco smoke with its 7000 carcinogens 70 of which are toxic and lethal.....None of those in Vaping.

Your quit journey is mimicking mine by the sounds of it. I also used a vape to quit. And I've met people who have been off cigarettes for years now that used vapourisers. It's actually crazy how many people have quit using a vapouriser nowadays, and I'm so glad it's working for you. I get so excited when I see people succeed and better their health.

Happiness - At the end of the day vaping is what is helping me. And I don't regret my choice, nor will I apologise for it. Do you also post the same things to people who use nicotine gum, spray ,patches or medications that cause all sorts of side edfects, including impacting mental health? Same same. And just a little FYI, the amount of nicotine I actually use is very very minimal. Even less than what would be in all the above mentioned items. I have even decreased that in my 42 days.

Rikki & Andrew - keep on fighting the good fight. Ciggarette free 💞 I had more attempts at quitting than I care to mention. None stuck. I got stressed or had a hiccup and turned straight back to smoking and was absolutely miserable the whole time, as I'm sure my family was too. Not now. Not this time. I'm positive, enjoying the support I have found and made some amazing new friends along the way :) definitely no regrets at all!

Again i am happy that vaping has helped as a tool to step down from nicotine and to end smoking. How plainer can i make that? However once you finally get off, how long will you stay off without understanding how nicotine affected your mind . Without the acceptance that you will not smoke or vape again how do you stay free of nicotine?

Hi Chelley

You came here to give support and advice . Can you please tell us how your group advises how to reinforce your quit from nicotine and eventually from the vaping itself?

It's very simple, you slowly and incrementally reduce the nicotine level until zero, however, if someone can't make it to zero that's fine too. This is a quit smoking group, not a quit nicotine group. Nicotine is simply a stimulant similar to caffeine that is addictive. Unlike nicotine Nazis, I say whatever works to stop you dying from cancer and smelling like an ashtray is good news. I'm about saving lives, not pushing my ideals on others.

schedule 11 Dec 2019

It is all well and good to say you cut down the nicotine gradually. Why? If vaping is so safe and you don't like the fact that this site wants to enable people to quit the nicotine addiction, why don't you state that more openly in your posts?

As you say, you goal is about saving lives and not pushing your ideals on others? Really not pushing your ideals, but we can't?

Nicotine has ruled our lives for many years. Taking it in another form does not negate its power. An understanding of it is necessary to control it. There must be more to your group than an offer to substituting the inhaling experience.

Sorry Chelsea, the above is a question/comment to Rikki and Andrew. I am sure you came hoping to do good. You are, but please understand that there are two sides to every story. Perhaps you are open minded enough to see how this site and our method can get your dependence on nicotine in check by adding it to your quit plan.

I sincerely wish you all the best and hope that you will encourage others here to kick not only cigarettes, but nicotine to the curb.
