Day 35 started off great, now I have a bad headache

I haven't had nicotine gum in exactly 73 hrs . yesterday was a good day. today i woke up with a headache . I just eat lunch hoping it will help . I'm also going to try meditation music .. any tips would greatly be appreciated...

Wow, good for you and keep on going.....you are through the worst of the nicotine withdrawal and there are a couple of things to help that come to mind. When we quit nicotine, caffeine has a larger impact, so cut your caffeine by half as not to get too jittery (anxious) , drink lots of water to help flush your body of toxins and eat breakfast....something that a great many of us skipped. A good diet to help your body at this time is very helpful. You will be amazed how much better you feel in just a few days.
Keep the positive attitude. You are doing great and it is sooooo worth it!

The psychological part of the journey is beginning , and you find yourself reaching for a smoke that isn't there. You miss that one at a certain time of day and it leaves a void in your routine. Remember that you started this journey for a reason and you have beaten the nicotine monster, now you just have to accept living today without a smoke. Change your routine and remember that a craving is just a thought. Don't debate with it. Shut the thought down and find something to do. It will pass and you will get through this. The sooner you embrace the journey and accept, the sooner you will begin to feel normal again in a new routine and way of thinking. It is possible to even not have cravings past the 72 hours. I accepted and did not crave. :)

Keep going. Don't look back. You will have a bigger headache if you choose to cave in. Weather the storm and keep reporting back. Only you can do it your way for yourself. Take charge and enjoy the bumpy ride ahead.

day 32 and i had my first major headache yesterday. usually when I got a bad headache was when I smoked too many cigs with no food, but yesterday i didnt have that excuse. Im also coughing every now n then with a foul gas taste in my mouth. im not sure what this is. ???

dstfry123.....Our lungs are healing after a few days of abstinence and try to rid itself of tar and debris. I was concerned that I did not go through it as many had. My shortness of breath had subsided almost immediately and now, a year later, the strength of a cough is back to normal. My new doctor did not even detect the "onset of copd" which I still continued to smoke for three years after hearing that.
Every quit is different. The forum is great for getting answers to concerns and caring support. Of course if medical problems persist, see your doctor.
Have a great smoke free day everyone!
