thinking on how sick i was

woo hoo ive done it one year 3 days no smokes it does get so much easier i just think about how sick i was and hearing my docter say to me if i keep smoking im not gonna be here on this earth in 5 yrs i now cannot stand the smell of them

Well done bech! Isn't it wonderful how much better life is without the nasties? I hope you have made great strides in regaining your health. Now our bodies can protect us from disease and ill health without our ghastly habit inhibiting it. It is a shame that we let things get to a point that we face losing our health and happiness before we take steps to rectify the situation.
Thankfully we have knowledge and support groups like this to open our eyes and guide us back to our normal state as non-smokers. Embrace the journey and choose life! I hope that your quit has had some influence on your hubby so that he might quit too. All the best to you both.

Congratulations Bech All of us here have read how difficult it was for you to accept your health problems and having a partner who smokes doesn't help. I personally had no real health problems but had a great deal of stress in my life, both hold negative impacts on our bodies. Well done for one year and 3 days, your doctor must be happy for you too.

Bi Bech
So thrilled to hear of your success. Honestly, as smokers, we came up with the lamest excuses for continuing to smoke until we listened to that title voice in our heads. It said, enough is enough. Sure, we will continue to have stress, illness and other problems that rear their ugly heads and tell us a bit of nicotine will cure all. Not so. There are other ways to deal with these and these are simply life skills. Who said the ride should be smooth and nicotine should play a part. Enjoy your freedom and the monetary reward, not to mention all the other pluses.
