40 days nicotine free

Thank you Allen Carr 😘 40 days today and still smoke free.
The cough has gone but still shortness of breath.
38 years of being a slave to the coffin nails.
Congratulations to all that have quit or even thinking of quitting.

So you never gave up giving up and here you are at day 40! Congratulations Dolly65-67. Reading Allan Carr's book really can make the difference in mindset required (or so very helpful) in making this journey easier overall. I am glad that joining the forum and reading the stories persuaded you to give the deal another go. Cold turkey sounds scary , but ripping off the band-aid quickly would be my preferred method too.
Great job Dolly67 and hopefully others will gain confidence enough to follow suit. Think positive. Believe you can and you will!

You commented that your cough was noticeable easing off but that you are still short of breath. I was borderline copd 3 years before i actually quit and thought that the copd must have progressed, yet when I went for my physical, a new doctor never picked up on it. I am smoke free almost a year now and I can't remember the last SOB episode. Give it time. I still haven't gotten into the exercise but was eating healthier. Passed blood pressure and cholesteral too which had been of concern. It is amazing how our bodies can repair some of the damages.
You are doing great Dolly. Stick with it and you too will reap the rewards.

Forgot to mention that the doctor visit was just six months after quitting smoking........I read that copd is not reversible, and yet I am not the only one with claims of such improvement. Some worse than I have had recovery. Keep the faith. The mind too is a powerful thing.

Thanks Happiness
I can definitely see an improvement in that short period.
I had a chest X-ray and that was ok.
But I didn’t have any follow up tests.
See how I go.

Maybe you have the wrong diagnosis Happiness.
I did read that it happens with copd.
