Day 108

Was planning to post on Day 100 (much better title) but missed it, so going with Day 108 instead.
Haven't posted in here for awhile but things are going well. Still completely smoke/nicotine free since the start.
Just shy of 3k saved.
Still get thoughts about having one which is annoying but theyre easily dismissed compared to first few days/weeks.
A question for those much further into the journey, will these thoughts continue to persist or do they eventually stop?
As always for those just starting their journey or those thinking about quiting, I cant recommend it enough. Do it! Life is so much better on this side of the fence :-)

Should also mention I still havent received the rest of my Zyban from the Chemist, so there must be a real shortage out there. Im thankful I chose to stop when I did because if I left it just a few weeks later thered have been none to have!!

Like you said PV, you think about it and dismiss the thought. Even I had times this summer where having too much time on my hands and relaxing with a drink gave me the urge, but not even a consideration to pick up the bad habit again. We had cravings all the time when we smoked, we just lit up because we didn't realize how easy it could be to just quit. Life is better on this side of the fence for sure! Hubby still reaches for the imaginary one and he is over 300 days quit too! Laugh it off, smile and be happy that we are in control. Congrats on such a great milestone PV. Many more are on the horizon.

PV congrats. It'll get a lot better. Soon enough you will keep reminding yourself that once you were a nicotine addict by reading other people's quit stories. And once cravings become negligent you may ask yourself, why did I smoke in the first place? In my case 99.9% of the time I am cravings free but during the rest of 0.01% there may be a fleeting moment when I crave for something. Can't say that it's a nicotine craving per se just a weak, fleeting general craving that goes away on its own or by chewing gum or sunflower seeds.
When you have cravings often enough you are constantly reminded that you are still quitting, thus you are aware of your smoking addiction. When cravings disappear you'll need to be even more vigilant because at that point one starts believing that one cig will not and cannot hurt his/her quit. And why would it? By then there are no more cravings, no need to adjust your day schedule around smoke breaks, and you are quiet confident in your abilities as a non smoker. That's the time to be most vigilant because a sly little thought may start telling you - let's have just one puff. It maybe during a social gathering, or stress, or whatever but let have just one puff. It will not hurt your quit whatsoever. You have this addiction beat and there's nothing to worry about. Right? Well, that's the biggest mistake. One puff (or one cig) and you'll be right back at square one. Been there, done that, never again. Sending positive vibes your way. Cheers.

Hello again PV so glad you are doing well and congratulations on 108 days. I still have a thought now and then but like Safe says one cigarette is too many, you'll get sucked back into the vortex.
The thought is that! just a thought! not necessarily a craving, its to remind you of where you are and where you once were. The fact remains you are smoke free lets keep it that way.
