Nicotine gum

Well it’s been 9 days I have been smoke free. I have been using nicotine gum. I’ve tried giving up in the past. This time I feel so determined I’ve listened to Allen Carr’s book and hypnotherapy audio. I feel so determined strong and not only my health but the $450 I’ll save a month is such a huge incentive as I’m a single mum and need this money for more important things
My partner smokes and even though I’ve encouraged him to quit it’s not bothering me at all. I watch him smoke and feel glad I’m doing this.
I’m on the gum ... how long do I stay on it? I’m worried I might get addicted to that.....

Hey Chelle excellent choice on using the gum ! May I suggest you keep a daily journal of the use of this product, as you will become reliant on it as much as smoking. My quit on cigarettes, I used gum in 1984 when those where only purchased with a prescription. ( I got hooked on cigarillos years later, and have had several quits on them hopefully this is my last, which is cold turkey )
Keeping track each time with the gum will allow you to gage your usage, time, physical and mental condition of each use. When I used this method along with a cessation class, it helped me to determine my quit date for using the gum, which was just as important as quitting for me.
Best wishes for you journey, you can do this !

Great attitude Chelle. Deal with the 80% psychological part of this journey while cutting down on nicotine by using an aid is working for you. One step at a time, but heed Geo's words. Cut down on the gum from your intake today and go from there.
There really is so little nicotine left in the body after you sleep, that you should be able to step off of it without any more difficulty than most people who still smoke, and maybe easier than you think with the right mindset.
Just know that you are now going through the "breaking Habit" adjustment period which takes longer, but has the same "cravings" or thoughts of wanting a cigarette as nicotine withdrawal.
Allan Carr 's clients have no adjustment period. It is a battle won in the mind. The knowledge is what will keep you free. It is not about willpower alone, but about striving to beat the addiction whole heartedly for an absolutely better life without the enslavement.
Believe you can and you will!

Try the whitening gum extra. It's strong in flavour and close to the nicorette gum. Works for me.
