It will be 4 years smoke free for me on the 2nd June this year. I have saved $13,192.00. I've spent it all of course :) It was the first time I had ever tried to quit and I was determined to be free. I used Champix and stayed on it as long as I could so that i had every chance of succeeding. I tolerated it really well with no adverse effects and 4 years later I'm still smoke free! I feel really good and I'm healthy. I had smoked for a long time so I'm really happy that I was able to free myself from the addiction and I thank my workplace for going smoke free which gave me the incentive to do this. Good luck and good health to everyone else with their journey.

Congratulations on your 4 years free Tee Em. I have lost track of the days now, and will be where you are someday i hope. Since learning the truth of how we became addicted, and remained addicted because we believed that it was a stronger than our ability to overcome .... which has been proven false.

The truth is that we are stronger than it is. Many are able to quit with the help of forums, aids, knowledge and belief in themselves. No single one is a less valuable tool. In combining them, chances of succeeding are much greater.

This forum in particular reminds us of where we are going, or where we have come from. It is a reminder of how strong we are, and yet still vulnerable. It is a place where you understand , and are understood, a chance to give support and are supported. It is an honour to help through the bad days, and be thrilled for the success of others. It is a place of hope, determination and caring.

That is amazing, and encouraging. I am about to finish my 2nd month of Champix and it really has been great for me, no side effects apart from vivid dreams but wholly manageable and so much better than smoking! :) Congrats to you.

Congrats that must feel amazing! Thankyou for writing, it gives me hope and inspiration. I am so excited about being a non smoker. I stopped smoking because I found I just didn't have much energy. Of course I skipped meals, drank coffee too, didn't drink much water. But only 12 days in and my body is a much more liveable place to be. Keep on with your quit everyone! We are all much stronger then we think.
