Hi Everyone,
im now two weeks smoke free and loving life. Using Champix has helped alot. im now about halfway through my second batch. The thing is i feel great and not sure if i should conitnue with the Champix another month. I need some advice on this one please?

Hi Kevo. Isn't it great to be smoke-free! Congratulations!
Only you know what is best for you. How do you truly feel about the relationship you had with smoking? Do you miss it? Do you think you are psychologically prepared to quit Champix?
All nicotine is out of your system at this point , and most of the receptors have shut down, and will be totally shut down in another week, with or without the Champix. Your cravings if any, will be the same as they are psychological. My feelings are that the Champix has done the job by weaning you off the cigarettes and after that is a placebo in effect. I have no idea why they recommend taking it so long, other than to make more profit. I suppose it would be a deterrent from smoking if you were inclined to have a smoke now and again as i hear that it can make the taste nasty. But if someone, knowing it is going to taste that bad, fire up the nicotine receptors again and self -sabotage their own quit, then i don't think they are psychologically ready to quit smoking regardless of the means.
I guess the bottom line is that you stay on it if you think you will slip. Continue working on believing in yourself and on your mindset to let the past go.
If someone truly wants to be a non-smoker and accepts that, you will no longer desire a cigarette because you will have moved on to better habits and life style. Looking forward to this new life instead of fearing it is what gets you over the hurdle. Anyone can quit smoking if they want to.
