It has been 21 days of being smoke free and it feels so good.

In the next two days i'll be visiting friends who are smokers. I'm sure they will understand that I don't smoke anymore. Really hope I do not slip up and fall into those "only one won't harm" traps.

I also do not want to be overconfident about having it under control. Yes my mindframe is in the right place and I have willpower but i've slipped up twice to know that depending only on my mind/ way of thinking will not entirely prevent me from slipping so I will have to cut short visiting times with my smoker friends; only meet at smoke free places etc.

At least for 3-6 months, I feel the need to associate and be arround only non-smoker relatives and friends.

It sure will be hard during the festive season but I got this.

In other news: My mental health feels amazing.

Wish you all happy holidays and keep on being smoke free.

Hi Kennie you are doing really well, you are 21 days in and your mental health is doing really well. Then you say but ......

Don't allow for buts you are the driver and in control of your destiny, you get to choose the outcome! Come on girl you are here for the same reason as the rest of us, now back yourself and don't allow yourself to buckle. You are strong enough so back yourself and say I won't wobble again and be strong. You've just made 3 weeks Kennie now stay focused and determined and you will succeed!

I have no doubt you will succeed Kenny. You know you cannot have even one puff without falling back into the trap. That is really all you need to know, and with being in the right mindset will be side stepped quickly. When i am around smokers at the bar where i play poker, i take mints, and go outside as always on breaks. Those were my friends, nothing has changed. You have to set the pace for what makes you comfortable but just because we quit smoking doesn't mean we quit our friends. For some that makes quitting miserable and lonely,(and feeling deprived) if so, associate with smoking friends who will support you. Meet with a smoking friend along with a non-smoker. It will be the smoker who has to leave the cafe first or go out for a smoke. You won't feel deprived, you still have company at the table, and you can think, isn't this nice, i don't have to do that any more!

Thanks guys for the encouragement. 28 days now being smoke free. My smoker friends told me they were happy for me and are now inspired to quit. Being with them made me realize I never want to smell like them, cough like them; I like the smoke free me now. The me that feels better, smells better and is not a slave to smoking.
