Day 37

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 7 Nov 2018

Read my last post and thought about how I felt then, it was only day 11. Was amazed that I have now passed the one month stage, a month seemed a long way off when I last posted. Still use NRT at this stage which helps, I don't know if its the nicotine or just in my head/habit, however it works for now. I still haven't told my wife that I have Quit. I know she has noticed however I will tell her soon when I know I have beaten the addiction as I have failed before, not this time. A side benefit is the money you don't waste, my calculator has passed the $1000 mark, and that's only in 36 days. I won't lie, it isn't easy however giving up for good is the best thing I can do for my health, finances and the people I care about and even strangers who don't like the smell of smoke. Just take a day at a time and the bad days do get easier.

Thanks for the support. Have read your posts and am impressed that you made the 6 month mark. I intend to be their myself when you get close to the 12 month mark. Your right, at 62 and a retiree I can do a lot more with $12,000 than spend it on an addiction.
